Newsletter – July 2016

Dear friends,

we are excited to introduce to you our new website. The previous site was becoming old and we could not update it easily. This new site is designed to primarily highlight our activities and news, rather than our identity and values.

Next to the fixed pages (“IDEO’s Members”, “Our History”, “The Library”, “The Scholars’ House”, “IDEO’s Friends”) you will find five different blogs on the right side of the screen: “MIDEO”, “Publications”, “Research Projects”, “Seminars”, and “AlKindi”, with a quick access to the AlKindi online catalogue of our library.

Every month, our newsletter will be published on the homepage of this site. You will find al the same information as before, except the seminars and our publications will be displayed in the corresponding blogs on the right side of the screen.

Many of you have complained that you did not receive prior notice of our activities. Another new feature of this site, the calendar, will enable us to announce future events easily. The calendar is displayed in a condensed form on the right side of the screen and in a developped monthly form if you click on the “Calendar” link at the bottom of the page.

Lastly, another innovation is that you can easily subscribe to our newsletter by clicking on the “Newsletter” link at the bottom of the page. The same form will enable you to subscribe to receive invitations to our seminar (usually twice a month).

Available in three languages, English, French and Arabic, this website will contribute, we hope, to a better understanding of Islam, both as a religion and as a culture. This site is our answer to the dire need for dialogue between all people, Christians and Muslims, atheists and humanists, all men and women of good will.

Please do not hesitate to share with us your remarks, suggestions, comments and any criticism by sending an email !
